About the designer: Established in 1945 postwar, Pierre Balmain founded the Parisian couture house after receiving growing admiration from notable figures. His trailblazing designs and luxurious embroidered fabrics, nipped waists, and elaborate gowns became synonymous with his signature aesthetic.
